8000 cans and bottles deposited in six days at new reverse vending machines at Southgate
Sutherland Shire The Leader, 5 July
Ten cent deposits have been given on 8000 cans and bottles in six days through new reverse vending machines at Southgate shopping centre, Sylvania.
Environment Minister Gabrielle Upton promoted the new site with Miranda MP Eleni Petinos.
“Return and Earn is the largest litter reduction initiative to be introduced in NSW, aiming to reduce the 160 million drink containers that are littered in the state every year,” Ms Petinos said in a statement.
Since Friday, 8000 eligible containers have been returned at Southgate.
